C~Men's Lacrosse mandatory equipment is as follows:
Helmet (we are striving to have all white helmets)
Shoulder, Elbow and Hand Protection
Supporter and cup.
Stick (basic mid-field / attack stick is fine, only very experienced defensive players can move on to a long stick)
Mouth protection (Team can supply for a nominal fee, around $ 3.00 dollars)
Goalie: Goal stick, goalie chest protection and throat guard.
It is against the rules to cut out the palm of a players glove.
Rubber cleats are recommended. (soccer and football shoes work well)
~Woman's Lacrosse mandatory equipment are as follows:
Woman's Stick
Eye Protection
Mouth protection
Batting style gloves and cleats are optional. (soccer shoes work well)

Lacrossemonkey.com has a wide selection.
SportsAuthority.com has fine equipment but there customer service has been weak.
Shop around, look for deals and look for start up sets, shoulder, elbow and gloves.
EBAY has a lot for younger players.
